2. Memed, My Hawk by Yashar Kemal

Yasher Kemal‘s famous book Memed, My hawk is another gem which is termed as one of the best book in Turkey. The story of this book seems to be inspired from Robin Hood but presented with a change. The leading role Memed who born in a poor family lead his life to do something incredible and was succeed to win the heart of the lord of that time. 3. Human Landscapes from my Country by Nazim Hikmet

This novel is listed as one of the classical piece of writing which was wrote by the greatest poet of turkey named Nazim Hikmet. The story revolves around a prison. Nazim was listed as one of the finest and revolutionized writer of the modern era. This book was considered as the master piece which was unfortunately published after his death.   The story line perfectly portrait the Turkish lives in a brilliant way.

4.The Towers of Trebizond by Rose Macaulay

 This book is a travel story written by Rose in a very beautiful way. The story is narrated by a character named Laurie who is traveling along with her Aunt, father on a camel. They all are traveling from Istanbul to the magnificent Trebizond. The story is about thoughts related to love, trust, uncertainties, ethical deeds, logical thinking and the difficulties through which a person who is a Christian passes.  The book was written in 1956.

 

5. Snow by Orhan Pamuk

Orhan Pamuk is a famous writer of Turkey. The writer was popular because of his remarkable way of writing and presenting the story. This novel is a story revolving around the epidemic situation in Kars where young women attempts to suicides at a large scale. The writer while writing the book seems to be struck in the dark politics of Kars and the epidemic situation of women there. The book was written in 2002.

The story line of this book is about a lady named Fatma who is living in a mansion located in a fishing village at Turkish coast. In the start of the story the lady Fatma seems waiting for visiting her grand children who visit the mansion annually to see her. She leaves alone in the mansion with her servants. There comes a twist in the story on the arrival of the cousin of her servant Recep. The entire story changes at this point.

8. The Forty Rules Of Love By Elif Shafak

This book is entitled as one of the greatest book related to Turkish cultural. The book was written in 2009. In the book the writer give details of two exciting corresponding narratives of Turkish culture which is modern and the other one is the time of thirteenth century. The story line is about the meeting time of Rumi his spiritual adviser who is the spiraling dervish known as Shams of Tabriz.

9. Gardens Of Water By Alan Drew

A garden of Water is a story book written in 2008. The story is about two families who belong to two different faiths. A major disaster hit turkey in 1999. After the massive earthquake Sinan (the leading character) and his family have to live as migrant in their own country. The story moves further when daughter of Sinan falls in love with his American neighbor.

This book was written in 2002. The book is about the story of the daughter of last Ottoman Pasha. Every man of Ankara wants to marry this beautiful girl. But Selva caught in live with the son of a Jewish court physician named Rafael. The story covers their loves story and after marriage life in a very pretty way.
