Southern Puerto Rico is famous region coastal region. It has been reported that this Southern region of Puerto Rico has been badly shacked by an earthquake of 4.8 magnitudes on Thursday 07 august, 2020. Research had shown that the central point of the earthquake was at the depth of shallow region of Puerto Rico. According to the research report of geological department of U.S, It had been noticed that the region was same which were shacked by a previous earthquake hit in late December. It was a good luck that the earthquake do not made any kind of direct damage in the nearby regions.
According to the initial research of US Geological department the earthquake of 4.8 intensity mainly hits the southern town of Guayanilla. The depth of this earthquake was estimated about 12 kilometers. No any damage or lost is reported as the result of this huge hit. But the natives of Puerto Ricans living in the nearby region of the coastal line and surroundings felt it.
According to the statement of the director of Island Seismic network the regions had been hit many times with aftershocks once the earthquake of 6.4 intensity hit Puerto Ricans back in January. At that time the lost of one person’s life and the damage of million dollars along Puerto Rico southern coast had been reported.
Southern Puerto Rico is famous Island and is considered as popular place regarding tourist point of view. Experts of U.S, Geological department claims that since the place is famous regarding tourist point of view but on the other hand this place had also been affected by Earthquake several times.
The earthquake of January causes major damage at the coastal side of the Island which had been recovered soon. Millions dollar lost has been occurred at that time.
Various number of aftershocks had hit the place so it had been recommended that tourist must avoid to visit the place for certain time until the process of aftershocks had been stopped and the place must be declared safe by the U.S Geological team.
